We believe each moment of this journey holds the potential for spiritual growth as we connect with and respond to God’s living presence and love in our lives – no matter our age or stage of life. When we actively engage in Christian Formation, we have the opportunity to transform day-to-day existence into spirit-filled, vibrant, and joy-enriched lives.
At Manakin, we seek to introduce learning tools and practices that help us:
- Turn daily to God’s Story, and as we read and reflect on scripture, discover fresh insights into how we are to live as children of God.
- Expand our understanding of and participation in Episcopal worship, sacraments, and practices.
- Engage in faith-forming, spiritual practices and prayer that bring us closer to God and each other.
- Discern our gifts, so we might be the voice of God’s compassion, justice, and generosity in the neighborhoods and communities in which we live.
Manakin is a family, and we welcome activities where adults and children learn and work alongside one another. We actively encourage all to ask questions; to share and speak from the heart; and to stay open to God’s transforming love as we meet and greet each person in our daily lives.
The Episcopal Church has adopted comprehensive expectations and guidelines to create safe and welcoming space for all children, youth, and adults in our community and those engaged in ministry with children and youth. Manakin follows these practices as outlined by the greater Episcopal Church.
