Join Manakin Episcopal Church for its Founders’ Day Festival on Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The theme of the day is Family Life in the 1850s and 1860s.

Founders Day will include presentations on a variety of topics, including:
• Civil War years in Chesterfield
• Author Wilford Kale, “A Very Virginia Christmas”
• Beginnings of the Black Church in America: Absolom Jones & The Free African Society
• Presentation on Historical Quilts of the 19th Century
• The Role of Episcopal Church in the 1850s & 1860s

The day will also include children’s arts, crafts and games; children’s programs by The American Civil War Center at Tredegar; music by The Manakin Rovers; a Civil War re-enactors’ encampment; tours of the Huguenot Chapel and Headquarters/Library; shopping with local artisans; food; and more.
