Altar Guild

Do you have an eye for arranging flowers? Do you find satisfaction in seeing a piece of brass or silver shine? Do you enjoy warm fellowship? Do you want to do something for Manakin but just aren’t sure how to assist? If so, please consider joining Manakin’s Altar Guild. The Altar Guild prepares our church for weekly services, as well as baptisms, weddings and funerals. We always welcome extra sets of hands to help, so if you would like to join Altar Guild, or if you would like to shadow one of our teams to find out what Altar Guild is all about, please contact church office.

Currently there are 25 women serving on the Manakin Church Altar Guild. The Guild prepares the church and altar for worship services, including baptisms, weddings, funerals and any special services. Two members coordinate six teams rotating during the course of the year. On-the-job training is provided with much support and encouragement to anyone who would like to participate in this important and rewarding ministry of the church. The Altar Guild provides direct support to wedding parties during the rehearsal and ceremony.
