We are all part of the Pastoral Care Committee. Everything we do for each other in our times of difficulty (and sometimes joy!) is pastoral care. We look after each other. The people of Manakin are a church family, and we take care of our family members.

The Pastoral Care Committee reaches out to our Parish in several ways:

Manakin Prayer Vine – Anyone can be on this e-mail list that sends out prayers upon request. They can be anonymous or not. We believe strongly in the power of praying for each other!

Prayer Pagers – These are available upon request. If you or someone you know is experiencing a hard-ship, the congregation is given a pager number and every time someone remembers you in prayer and call the numbers, the pager lets you know.

Transportation – We offer rides to appointments, treatments, outpatient surgeries, prescription pick-ups, etc.

Caring Communication – Cards, phone call, visits, e-mails…just to stay in touch and let people know you care and are available.

Lawn Care – Our Men of the Church will graciously assist members of our family upon request.

Gracious Gourmets – this list of kind and generous people willingly take meals to people in need.

Stephen Ministry – The newest way we can help! Paula Price has been trained in this national lay-led pastoral ministry and will be training Stephen Ministers for us beginning in January.

If you are interested in helping in any areas that have been mentioned, please contact the church office.
