What is JobSeekers?
JobSeekers was formed by Episcopal churches in Convocation VII in March, 2009, to provide those unemployed or underemployed with resources for landing a job and emotional and spiritual support while they’re looking. Since then, JobSeekers has helped more than 400+ people with their job search and preparations. JobSeekers volunteers assist participants with reviewing resumes; assessing skills and strengths, preparing for interviews, correspondence, and networking tips. What JobSeekers appreciate is receiving not only information about the mechanics of job searching but compassionate support. The size of the group allows real fellowship and camaraderie. Five years and still going strong!

Who are JobSeekers?
JobSeekers are members of your community. They are fathers, mothers, recent graduates, retirees. How they lost their job varies. Some were given little or no notice. Some spent the last several months hoping it wouldn’t happen to them. Some have lost their health insurance, have fallen behind on their mortgage and car loans. Most are trying to reassure their spouses and children and trying to keep life running as normally as possible, while the panic grows. They are trying to figure out how to get past online application processes to meet with a real human being.

When does JobSeekers meet?
JobSeekers meet weekly on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. to kick start their week of job search. The meeting is held in Pinder Hall at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Midlothian (corner of Winterfield and Salisbury Rd). All help is provided FREE of charge.
