As you read this, we have finished our fourth hot lunch feeding down at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, adjacent to Gilpin Court in downtown Richmond. We have prepared and served more than 800 hot, nutritious lunches to homeless and working poor…men, women and children…since we began this ministry in the beginning of 2014! This was a new program that was added to the many deserving organizations that our Outreach Committee supports! THANK YOU to all who have helped make this happen. Thanks to all who helped on October 29. Our next fifth Wednesday feeding will be on December 31….New Years Eve!
We provide these meals in partnership with Richmond Friends of the Homeless, a nonprofit organization that reaches out to some of the area’s most under served in our population. The organization was started in 1986 and is supported solely by private donations. The founder and director is Shawnee Hansen. She and her daughter Camille run two feeding sites in metro Richmond. We feel honored to be a part of this loving and life-giving ministry!
