Manakin has been a member of The Resource Center (TRC) for about seven years. This membership entitles anyone from Manakin to research and/or check out materials from TRC. TRC is located on the campus of the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at VUU and was established as an ecumenical, non-profit agency that’s mission is to resource congregations, schools, agencies and individuals for ministry in a diverse and changing world. Three members of Manakin (Susie Stone, the Rector and me) sit on the Board of TRC.
On June 8, TRC sponsored an Inclusion Choir Concert. Two members of Manakin sang in this amazing and spiritually moving concert.
The Resource Center Excellence in Ministry Banquet is scheduled for Friday, November 21. Manakin has had a large presence there for the past seven years. The banquet will, once again, feature a silent auction—more details later.
Our Outreach Committee has graciously supported the ministry of TRC for the past few years.
